"Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God."
Revelation 3:2 KJV
A Testimony Forged in the Night
Asa Longoria did not choose the ministry — the ministry chose him. From his earliest years, there was a weight on his life that he could not explain and could not escape. He tried to outrun it, to silence it, to bury it beneath the noise of ordinary living. But God would not let him go. In the quiet hours of the night, when the world was asleep, the Lord would speak — and Asa would listen.
His conversion was not a gentle thing. It was a breaking — a moment when the reality of eternity crashed into the comfort of the present and left him undone. He wept. He repented. He surrendered. And from that place of brokenness, God began to build something that no man could have constructed on his own.
The call to preach came early, but the preparation took years. God walked Asa through seasons of obscurity, of testing, of waiting — seasons that felt like burial but were, in truth, the soil of resurrection. He preached in small churches where the pews were half-empty and the offering barely covered the gas. He preached in places where no one knew his name and no one cared. And in those hidden places, God was doing the deepest work.
It was in one of those quiet seasons that the burden for the sleeping church became unbearable. Asa began to see what God was seeing — a church that had grown comfortable, a generation that had never tasted genuine revival, a world rushing toward eternity while the watchmen slept at their posts. That burden became the seed of Fourth Watch Ministries.
"The fourth watch is the darkest hour — the hour just before dawn. It is the hour when most men have given up watching. But it is also the hour when Jesus came walking on the water."
The Call to the Fourth Watch
The name Fourth Watch Ministries was not chosen lightly. In the ancient world, the night was divided into four watches. The fourth watch — from three in the morning until dawn — was the most grueling. It was the hour when exhaustion was deepest, when hope was hardest to hold, when the darkness felt most absolute.
Asa believes we are living in the fourth watch of human history. The hour is late. The darkness is deep. But the Lord is coming — and He is looking for watchmen who will not abandon their post, who will not trade their burden for comfort, who will cry out until the dawn breaks.
That conviction drives every sermon, every revival meeting, every prayer meeting, every mile traveled in the name of this ministry. Asa does not preach for applause. He preaches because he is compelled — because the love of Christ constrains him, because the lostness of the world breaks him, because he has seen what God can do when His people wake up and pray.
